Sophia Studio (beta)
...for Speech Therapists
Sophia Studio is a software application that assists speech therapists conducting initial evaluations. The simple-to-use software allows the therapist to configure a list of evaluation items (words, sentences, etc), displays the items to the client on the computer screen, and records the client's voice. Sophia Studio runs on Microsoft Windows® 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista operating systems.
Manage Multiple Clients
Sophia
Studio organizes multiple clients, making it easy for
you to record, score, and evaluate them.
You can also manage multiple audio files for each client, allowing you to compare recordings over time. Each audio file is labeled with the client name and date/time.
Customizable Words/Phrases
You
edit the word/phrase list using the built in text editor.
Sophie Studio remembers the words/phrases
each time you record an evaluation, so you don't have to worry about
changing the word list. You can change it anytime!
While the Recording window records the audio file, it also indexes the audio file for each evaluation item, and allows you to later play each item in a loop.
Recording
The Recording form is simple to use, but is also very special.
The Recording form walks the client through a list of words and phrases (defined by you). The client recites each of the displayed words and phrases and presses the Next button. The window's optionally-visible volume meter allows you to verify proper recording levels before your client begins.
Playback & Transcription
When it is time to transcribe and score your evaluation, you open one of the client's audio files. The Playback & Transcription form shows a list of the words/phrases that the client recorded.
You can click on any of the words/phrases in the list, and the Playback & Transcription form will automatically zoom to the specified section of the audio file and begin playing it in a loop. This greatly eases the transcription process by automatically repeating each item until you are ready to move on to the next item!
