About Christine Fletcher and "Standard Accent"
Standard
Accent was founded by Christine Fletcher. Christine holds a
Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from St. Cloud State
University in St. Cloud Minnesota, and has a decade of experience
helping people with their speech and communication.
Christine is certified by the Institute of Language and Phonology to provide foreign accent modification training utilizing the Compton P-ESL program, and has received professional recognition for her clinical expertise in the areas of voice, swallowing, and speech and language disorders in 2004.
Christine is a member of American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is fully accredited, having earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA in 1998.
She is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois, and worked for a private practice in Peoria, Illinois for seven years providing evaluation and treatment to children and adults having a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.
While in private practice, Christine’s areas of interest included voice disorders, head and neck cancer, swallowing disorders, and early intervention.
Christine has received numerous awards, including the
Honors of the Association from the Peoria Area Speech-Language
Hearing Association (PASHA), Continuing Education from ASHA in 1998
and 2004. She is also a member of the Illinois Speech-Language
Hearing Association (ISHA), and has held a number of elected offices
in Peoria Speech-Language Hearing Association (PASHA).
